disappear betwixt prose and rhyme.
Summon stories of stardust's song
and find fables of forgotten times.

Disappear from harsh reality,
seeking lettered escape.
Twisting lines into melodies,
leaving the long lost agape.

Whispering wishes of wanderlust,
daring dreams of dancing,
gushes of grace's grandeur
with the beauty blushing brings.

The Cycle

Here I am again, aching. My heart pounds to my ribs, my lungs squeezing, my chest tightening, hoarding my tears. When I couldn't take it anymore, I'll run back to your safety (cause I don't feel safe with me); a safe haven that I know wouldn't last - a comfort and joy that's temporary. When you are two and five and ten you are unaware –– of the cactus in the windowsill, how, fragile, each quill bends and breaks and falls apart.–– Twelve years later, on a Tuesday, you dream about a boy who bumps his head on an iron slate and you wake in a cold sweat. You are twelve when you are always bumping shoulders. Twenty-two years of Thursday. There is nothing at all. And you wonder (and you wonder why) each time you wake. This is one of my favourite poems that I have ever written. In essence it is just the idea of capturing the various wonders of the world, let alone the word. It's a tad romantic, through the thought of beauty and poetry plus the idea of 'Let's fade into lines of written word.'

I love this poem so much I 'cheated' when having a mini poetry competition with a friend a few weeks later after first draft via messaging by using an excerpt. No hard feelings at least when I told him.
